Sun, sea, sangria, and siestas...
Located in the province of Granada, Andalucía, in the Kingdom of Spain, our Villa is situated in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains overlooking the Costa Tropical de Granada and the Mediterranean Sea, just outside of the small town of Salobreña.
The Villa is...
The villa forms part of the community of Monte de los Almendros or "Mountain of Almonds", the site of a former almond orchard.
People often ask us how we happened to build a villa, how we did it, and why we chose to do it in Spain. Looking back it all seems so simple. An English couple we had met while doing a house exchange in Bath UK introduced us to the area, showed us the villa they had just bought and introduced us to the developers and the architect. We weren’t particularly interested but agreed to let the architect show us some villas and vacant lots. We looked at several places, put ten dollars into a Spanish bank to open an account and left for home. We had visited and lived in Spain before and liked it so this seemed like a good idea at the time.
It ended up being a little complicated...in fact, it is a miracle that it happened at all. But, our Spanish builder did a wonderful job and the villa is as good as the day it was built. We've never regretted it for a minute and know you won't regret visiting it.
